» I had heard of Dreamwidth, but never had interest. Until I made the header for [community profile] kradamadness. Everything looked so clean and neat and I just loved it. So I scored a code and created an account. Never did anything with it and mostly forgot about the site. But as many of you know, LJ decided to be an asshat. I do not appreciate that I have no say over my privacy. So I just pimped my DW account (with the same layout as I have here) and imported all of my entries and comments. I'm not leaving LJ, because I love my friends and communities too much. And I've invested too much time into the site to abandon it. But having a back-up DW account is a comforting thought. And at least that way I can keep in touch with friends who did leave LJ and went to DW.

If you have DW as well, I'm here. Add me? :D

I'm 'mnemosime' over at DW, too, and I just added you. Add me back? :D ♥

PS: I wish I knew how to change my DW layout--I've got enough trouble changing it here on LJ. I'm jealous of your skills, LOL.

:D Just added you! <3

It took me a while to figure it out, too. Was one of the main reasons why I didn't go back to dreamwidth after I made the account, because DNW ugly layout. :P But it's actually pretty simple. I found a tutorial here which explains how to get a LJ layout on your DW account. Once you've found the layout you want to use, all you need to do is follow the steps in that tutorial and then c/p the css. If you ever need help, I'll be happy to help. =)

im skyisgreen on dw, just added you ;)
ill never get why FB is so popular. its kind of scary. just think about all those stalkers who browse through your photos. whats most irrating you cant uncheck this option like there is no way to protect yourself. lj did it for money, they dont give a shit about users. well i dont have a paid account but there are ppl who pay and i think they deserve to have a say in it.

\o/ Added you back, bb!

I have a FB account (my friends pressured me to get one, lol), but I never do anything with it. Got like half a million friend requests sitting there, waiting for me, but it never really interested me. And now that I think about it, I should just go ahead and delete the thing. And you're right, it's creepy as hell that anyone can check out your pics and messages.

We've got a site like FB here in the Netherlands. It's called Hyves and you can lock and secure everything you want; your photos, messages, blogs, EVERYTHING. It's way better than FB and I think I'll just stick to LJ & Hyves.

And yeah, it's ridiculous that LJ didn't let their PAID users (and basic users too for that matter) know beforehand what they were planning to do. But LJ is known for doing what they think is best and if they can make money from it, they apparently don't even hesitate. -smh-
