Today is my 4 year LJ anniversary, yay! But I've been lurking on LJ for much longer than that. I think from since 2003. Then everyone locked their journals and I had to create an account to keep reading some of my favorite blogs and comms. I did nothing with the account, other than adding some people and sometimes chat with some of them. But I was never really a part of a fandom and didn't have real friends. Last year - Adam & Kris - changed all of that. I started making icons of them and I remember being way nervous sharing 'em for the first time. And looking back at the icons I made when I first started about a year ago - I'm kind of facepalming. That stupid black border, way too bright colors, pixelated... Why oh why did I think that looked good? I think I improved a lot over the year. Still not perfect, always like to try out new things, but it's much better than it was. Anyway, I've met a lot of GREAT people the past year and I'm so happy to have you all here on my flist. I may not always reply (I try to, tho) and comment on your entries, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate every single one of you ♥

I also remember why I picked this username. I'm a dreamer. I love dreaming, daydreaming, reading about dreams. I just plain love everything that involves dreams somehow. So 'dream' definitely had to be in my username, because it's a part of who I am. As it was, lots of usernames that had 'dreams' in them were already taken. Then, while I was thinking of a good username (I didn't want to be [livejournal.com profile] daydreamer10245) my mom asked me if I was high or something, cause I was staring into space like I tend to do sometimes when I'm far away in thought. I even get crosseyed without even noticing that I do that, lol. Anyway, I thanked my mom and registered [livejournal.com profile] highdreams. I thought it sounded super cool. 8) :P And I'm still happy with it.

And that is my LJ story. What's yours? How did you get here? And why did you choose this username?
