» I'm going to Bastogne next weekend! Going with my mom and we will be visiting all the WWII places, including the foxholes in Bois Jacques. So looking forward to that.

Also, I kind of want a Band of Brothers moodtheme now, but the ones I've found I either don't really like or the images are too big. I guess I'll have to make one myself. Maybe an animated one this time.

» Bought an iPod Touch today. I loooooooove it! Gave my iPod Classic to my brother who's very happy with it. Helped him today with installing everything and his computer was soooo slow. Ended up staying with him for the whole day, but I had a great time. My brother and I never talk that much, but when we do see each other it's always fun.

» Went to see my physiotherapist yesterday. Since everything is alright with my back, I won't have to come back \o/. He said it would be kind of pointless and a waste of money and I of course agreed. I'm happy, cause since he was very nice, those sessions with him were not much fun. I just can't handle pain very well :P

» The last couple of days I've been doing nothing except reading. Reading and educating myself; first with Stephen Ambrose's Band of Brothers book, which gave me a lot of more insight about Easy Company. The book, as it's mostly the case when making movies of books, has a lot more information that wasn't covered in the series. It was both a delightful and heartbreaking read. Whenever I'm interested in something, I want to get to the bottom of it. I want to know everything about the subject. So I ordered Dick Winters' book and all of the other avalaible books of the Easy Company veterans ('Wind' Bill Guarnere, Lynn 'Buck' Compton, Don Malarkey and the 'We Who Are Alive and Remain: Untold Stories from the Band of Brothers'). I finished Ambrose's book yesterday and immediately started on Winters' memoirs. It's very interesting to read it from his point of view. Winters' very detailed story about the training in Camp Toccoa is fascinating. I can't wait to read the other books.

» My dad is at a music festival in the south of the Netherlands and will be away all weekend. My mom and I took this opportunity to have dinner at a restaurant with just the two of us. As it was still early (4pm) and there weren't a lot of customers, most of the waiters and waitresses sat outside, next to our table. At one point, a smoking hot waiter comes to the table and smiled and winked at me. Rawr. But it wasn't meant to be. As I had sort of guessed he was gay. Or in his words, 'a homosexual'. He told us a story of a female customer who'd kept hitting on him. When he told her he was 'a homosexual' she'd cursed, called him a vieze flikker (dirty faggot), paid and left. He raged about homophobia and showed me a picture of his adorable boyfriend. Then he noticed my bracelet and gave me a high-five. I've been wearing this bracelet for almost 3 years now and have never taken it off. Not even when I'm sweaty, like I am now.

» Speaking off sweaty, it is almost unbearably hot here. I've been complaining about the cold the whole winter and spring, but now that summer is finally here, I wish it WAS cold. It is the hottest I've ever expierenced. We've had days when it was 35C (Celsius, which is 95 degrees in Fahrenheit). That is very, very unusual for our little country.

» Tomorrow is the world cup finale. I'm not sure I'm gonna make it to the end of it. I'm already so damn nervous. I'm about to puke. Whenever I think of it, my heart beats faster and I get even more sweaty than I already am. It's torture, really. The only thing I'm asking for is PLEASE don't let there be any penalties. GOD NO. I can't take that. D:

HUP HOLLAND HUP. GO GET THEM, TIGERS (or in our case, lions). Make me proud, please?

If Spain wins tomorrow, I'm gonna cry my eyes out. No doubt I'm gonna be sick, too (like I was in '98, I seriously puked my guts out after the lost match against Brazil). But then at least we were beat by an excellent team with awesome players.

» Yes, I realize that I am late, but OMFG. Holland won! :D :D :D

My voice was completely gone yesterday. I had screamed so hard during the game that I could not utter a word anymore. It’s back now, but I’m still quite hoarse. But damnit, we beat Brazil, people.

I seriously thought it was over for us when Brazil made the 0-1. Then the second half of the match was much better and when that one Brazil player got the red card, I finally became confident that we could win this thing. And we did.

I’m still beaming. What a fantastic day it was. <3

» I HAVE SIX WEEKS OFF, GUYS. NO WORK, NO KIDS, NO NOTHING. EXCEPT LAZY DAYS AND FUN STUFF. AND FINALLY SOME TIME FOR LIVEJOURNAL. <3 I’M SO HAPPY.

» Went to bed at 11pm last night and woke up 14 hours later. I really needed that. It’s been so hot the last couple of days, and that combined with being crazy busy at work and being stressed over the world cup had me exhausted.

» Having a bbq tonight at our place. The sun is shining, the beer is cold, I think I’m gonna have a good time.

» Anyone interested in being an editor for [livejournal.com profile] kradam_news? We’re looking for at least one more person to help us out.

» I’m so behind on answering emails and messages. I’ll catch up and reply this week, I swear.

» Happy 4th of July!

» SPN tonight! Aaah. I'm going to try and stay up tonight (show will air at 3am my time) and see the show on a livestream somewhere. But I'm so tired that I don't think I'll make it :P

» I'm a Donald Duck fan. A HUGE FAN. I've got one bookshelf full of DD magazines, pockets and albums and that's not even half of what I own. What I'm most proud of is my pocket collection which is complete! 173 issues :D In the Netherlands, the Donald Duck is a weekly magazine and has been since 1952. Already there are over 3000 magazines made and I want to have them ALL.

So far I have 15 years complete (still 43 years to go, but that's the fun in collecting stuff).

This is Rik van de Westelaken, for those who didn't know yet and were wondering who that mysterious man in my default icon is. Rik is a Dutch newsreader (one of the best we currently have IMO) and is just GORGEOUS. Whenever he presents the news to me I get all flaily. He was in a gay magazine last year in which he interviewed another Dutch gay celeb and that's were the pic is from. The original scan is here. My crush on this guy is HUGE. I've attempted several times to change my default pic, but I just can't bring myself to.

» I love Kris Allen. And I'm so happy that there are finally some new pictures of him lately. I missed him. Just look at his adorable cute little face.

Oh, and his duet with Allison is amazing. I've listened to it so many times, it's ridiculous. ♥

» Hey look, another Adam interview from The Netherlands! )
